If you want to create a high-functioning team, do your work, and it starts with the person who has the most power.

Who hired them? How does it make you feel when they make a decision that you disagree with? You want to build a scaled leadership team, you have to be willing to have them make boneheaded decisions.
When you reflect the stress onto your teams, everybody tenses out. It counterintuitively doesn't produce better outcomes.
Your voice has a megaphone attached to it even if you can't hear it. So you have to turn down the megaphone if you actually want to learn what your people have to say.
More companies die from suicide than homicide, and it's grim, but also if the two or three people in charge of the business can't get along, nothing else matters.
